I UNDERSTAND THE OPERATIONS...
...because I live them. 11 years on the fireground and in EMS give me the SME perspective to bridge the gap between frontline needs and technical implementation.
Understanding operational workflows isn't optional, it's essential for building solutions that firefighters actually WANT to use.
"Firefighters excel at manual labor; the tech should be just another tool in the box, built to reduce the heavy lifting of compliance so the crew can focus on the craft"
Whether its in the engine bay or on the fireground, my experience informs every implementation decision. I understand shift schedules, fatigue factors, and the critical importance of intuitive UX for field personnel. Solutions are designed for real world use.
Where fireground experience meets technical implementation
My solutions that transformed our firehouse operations from paper based chaos to streamlined digital workflows. Before First Due took over.
NFPA 1901 Compliant • ISO Rated • Real-Time Sync
Our fire district relied on a manual, paper-based system for apparatus, SCBA, and bottle checks. Binders in the engine bay were overflowing, photocopied forms were outdated...
Real-Time Capture • Salesforce Integration • Closed-Loop Feedback
In the fire service, the gap between damaging gear at 3 AM and Administration arriving at 8 AM is a critical failure point. Relying on paper logs or a tired firefighter's memory...
Proactive Alerts • Multi-Channel • Auto Reorder Integration
Our district relied on manual oversight for thousands of line items with varying expiration dates, ranging from medical supplies and AED batteries to structural PPE...
Situational Awareness Dashboard
I Designed a dashboard for the engine bay with live updates, multi-channel alert system, and a 48 hour rotation logic.
The dashboard displays real time data for the crews to always be aware of. It displays current, past, and future duties by calculating the exact position in the shift rotation. High priority modules like District Alerts and Apparatus Maintenance ensure the crew is always informed of checklist fails, road closure, etc. I also built in a competitive 'Tour Score' system that tracks run volumes and resets automatically, keeping the data fresh for every shift change, and the crews engaged. This runs off a centralized Admin Command Portal that allows leadership to push the bulletins directly to station monitors via a headless architecture. By automating the flow of data from the admin desk to the mobile interface and the bay dashboard, I’ve eliminated the reliance on whiteboards and outdated printouts, ensuring that all addressed needs and information is always in sight for the crew. There are a lot of times that information forgets to be passed along during shift change. This dashboard eliminates forgotten messages that wasnt passed along.
